Not your average Friday

Haha, guess what I saw while walking back home after training? A baby phyton! How cool is that?! Not cool if it’s like sitting at the side of the pavement and the place is barely lit up albeit for the staircase landing since most of the shops have already closed. I would have walked right passed it if there weren’t anyone to warn me.

There was a lady holding a broom and I was thinking what in the world was she doing with it in the middle of the night.

Lady: *smacks broom on the floor*
Lady: Boy! Boy! Be careful arh! There’s a snake over there
Me: Haha, sure thing…EH?! where?!
Lady: There!
Me: where??
Lady: Over there, the small snake.
Me: *walks around the pillar*
Me: woah…that’s a baby phyton no?
Lady: I think so..Wa! stupid cat, want to come here again!
Lady: *proceeds to chase the cat away*
Lady: see la! stupid cat! want to die so early! everytime want to go near snake!
Me: Haha…they’re just curious I guess..so, did cha call the police?
Lady: Yes, The uncle over there call already
Me: Oh. Haha, they will probably arrive shortly
Lady: Very long already le!
Me: huh?! how long?
Lady: he called the police about 20 minutes ago. dunno why they take so long! police station so near also!
Me: Agreed..

The police station is like 200m away…

Me: *goes off to warn an Indian couple*
Me: Err..It’s better not to walk here. There’s a snake over there.
Husband: Snake?! where?!
Me: *points*
Wife: Look! Look! There’s really a snake over there!
Husband and Wife: *walks towards the lady and they stared at the poor creature while conversing with one another*

Another Indian man approaches from the other direction but no one realise it until he’s like a metre or 2 from the snake. Guess all were engrossed with it

Lady, Husband and Wife: Be careful! Snake! Snake!

Indian Man: *looks down near his feet*
Indian Man: OH MY GOD!
Indian Man: *jumps back to a safe distance and stares*

Some kids, probably upper sec or year 1 poly, approached the area.

Kid 1: Where got phyton?
Kid 2: There!
Kid 3: You sure that one phyton anot?!
Kid 1: I thought phyton damn big one! This snake is so small!

I tell you…some people can be so dumb…

Kid 4: Eh, you all go near la!
Kids: *closes the distance between them and the final boss in their quest*
Kid 3: who want to catch it?
Kid 2: kid 4 lo
Kid 4: haha, can one!
kid 2: Go la! you all scared issit!?
Kid 1: like real! I show all of you!

You can however tell that no matter how much courage they try to put for show, they were shivering down there..plus not one of them budge from their spot. The police finally arrived, without any capturing devices. Lol, I was too lazy to wait for them to go about doing their job so i bid the rest farewell and head home. The kids were still there when I head home, probably still discussing how they would slay the serpent who stands in their path. The joys of imagination..

The Little Girl and Her Father

The Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.
The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter,
“Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don’t fall into the river.”

The little girl said, “No, Dad. You hold my hand.”
“What’s the difference?” Asked the puzzled father.
“There’s a big difference,” replied the little girl. “If I hold your
hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand
go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens,
you will never let my hand go.”

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in
its bond. So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting them
to hold yours…
