No, it is not a murder event as some of you might have thought. It’s about boys, literally drawing out a sword from a girl’s body. How that defy the laws of physics and such, we will just set it aside for now. The main point I want to put across here is how the music used for the scene can make a hell lot of difference. I have no idea since when but for quite a long while , I have been taking notice of the background and insert songs used in either anime or games. A lot of people will probably just listen to the opening and endings of such mediums and pay no heed to whatever is being played during the whole process. I was one of them but one particular anime/game made me search for its ost since some of the music portrayed in it fits the mood perfectly well and it sort of became a habit for the following animes/games.
Back to the the original intent, I was watching Guilty Crown when I remembered there’s an anime with the same act of drawing sword from a girl’s body, Shining Tears x Wind. Here’s two youtube videos showcasing the same act, but with different ‘kind’ of background music. For Guilty Crown, unless u really hate spoilers, don’t watch the video but we all know the main protaganist is going to do something like this due to the trailer. Not too sure if Shining Tears x Wind is going to spoil anyone. Now, let the sound do the talking.
Alright, maybe they want to portray something else in Shining Tears x Wind but even when one of the characters drew a sword at the very beginning, I just found it so-so as well. Still, for Guilty Crown at least, awesome music is awesome!
